my question is , is there an equvilent of moscato in a red wine? My wife likes the sweet moscato wines. But with the seasons changeing we were going to the reds.....

The closest equivalent of a Moscato (from Asti in Italy, I assume) is Brachetto d'Acqui, also from Piedmont. This type of wine is not in wide distribution, but with a little searching you should be able to find a good quality example such as Marenco (imported by Vias). Like Moscato, Brachetto has a very low alcohol content. Or, you could try a sweet Lambrusco (there are dry ones as well), which are more readily available at various quality and price levels. Chiarli is a very good producer. With either of these choices, however, you won't find the intensely perfumed aroma of a fine Moscato d'Asti.
