Wine And Flan

What wine or spirit pairs best with flan?
Answer From Expert Roger Bohmrich MW

Flan and similar custards are partnered to delicious effect with late harvest and botrytis-affected wines including Bonnezeaux (Loire Valley), Sauternes (Bordeaux), Tokaji (Hungary) and sweet Semillon (from Australia, for example). If you are having creme caramel or creme brulee - which have more intense flavors - you may want a richer drink: Liqueur Muscat or Tokay (Australia) or a Tawny Port.
