What To Serve At Wedding

Our daughter is getting married in September. We are down to the details, such as selecting the wines to offer our guests. We would like to serve Michigan varieties if possible. We have chosen Brys estate riesling for the white, but we still need a bubbly (preferably on the sweeter side), a dark red (not too dry, maybe a Malbec?), and a rose. Suggestions? Thank you.
Answer From Expert Roger Bohmrich MW

Well, this is a first for me - a really detailed question about Michigan wines! Frankly, I really can't help you with your very specific needs, as they call for someone who has a very solid knowledge of MI wines. That means someone who has made a study of the state's wine industry, a local journalist, or perhaps someone at the retail level in the state who buys and sells the wines on a regular basis. My suggestion is that you could first contact the Michigan Grape and Wine Industry Council (michiganwines.com) to see if they can put you in touch with the right person.
