Unopened White Wine

I put three or four bottles of Reisling, unopened in the refrigerator. I did not use two of them. They are still unopened. Do I need to keep them refrigerated until I use them or can I return them to my wine rack which is in another room of the house (which is well air conditioned).. Not a wine cellar?
Answer From Expert Roger Bohmrich MW

There seems to be a great deal of concern regarding this issue. If you look over past questions you will find quite a few which may give you advice and reassurance. I can say that the alarm is unwarranted, except with respect to very old and fragile (white) wines - which should be given the gentlest of handling. With all others, there is no damage done by moving a wine from the refrigerator to another room, especially one that is temperature controlled, and then back to the refrigerator prior to opening. The greatest threat to bottled wine is high heat, whether on a delivery truck or at home.
