Principe Chianti

I have a 3ltr, approx 114cm tall bottle of principe chianti the bottle is in the shape of a man - looks like a soldier. Can you tell me what it could be worth. We can send a photo if necessary.

I answered a question a while ago about a similar wine and bottle, although that one involved the more typical shape: a bulbous lower base wrapped in wicker and a tall spiral neck. The one you are describing is obviously another variation. You could take a look online, specifically at ebay.com, and you will see the variety of old Italian wine bottles of differing shapes, some containing wine and others empty. You'll see that the value is very low in either case. A fairly current vintage of Principe Chianti retails for less than $20 for a 1.5-liter bottle. It really depends on finding just the right person who happens to have a specific interest in this sort of bottle. The question of whether the wine is drinkable (if you have had it in your possession for several years) may or may not be relevant to a collector of curios.
