Organic Wines

I recently read that many wines contain pesticides. I am looking for a location in the Ft. Lauderdale area that carries a vast selection of organic wines. Thank You
Answer From Expert Roger Bohmrich MW

It is probably generally true that many agricultural products contain residues of pesticides and other chemicals in trace amounts. This is simply a fact of modern agriculture. It is fair to say that the concentrations of potentially harmful chemicals are too low to pose a health risk unless someone has a pronounced sensitivity. There is nothing unique about wine in this regard: various chemicals may be used in the vineyard to control fungal diseases or insects, for example. Even groundwater may contain some chemical contaminants. If you want to drink wines which are as free as possible of chemical agents, choose those which carry the USDA ORGANIC seal. I suggest you search online to find a store with a large selection of such wines in the Ft. Lauderdale area, or call a local health food store for information.
