Is Moscato A Good Wine For New Drinkers?

I am new to the wine world and many of my friends enjoy Moscato. I have never been a red wine fan when I have drank wine, but luckily this is a white wine. Would Moscato be a good wine to try when first beginning in the wine world?
Answer From Expert Roger Bohmrich MW

Moscato is becoming a fashionable wine type, following the model of Moscato d'Asti, the classic version from Piedmont, Italy: intensely perfumed, low in alcohol and somewhat sweet (or more). If you enjoy wines with some residual sugar, then this type of Moscato would be a good starter wine. And if this general type of white wine is appealing, then you may also like German Riesling with a similar profile (not the dry or Trocken versions)as well as Rieslings from other parts of the world made in this same style.
