Info On Napoleon Pure French Brandy Required

I have a bottle of Napoleon VO Brandy. The label nr is B85. Gold & red. 43% Alcohol. 750ml. At top/bottom of label is printed: Chatelle Brandy. On cap is printed: French Brandy - Shippers club - negociants a cognac charente. Emblem on label with 3 stars. Pure french brandy. Produced, blended and bottled in France. Can you please supply me more info on year of manufacture and current value of bottle???
Answer From Expert Roger Bohmrich MW

I am not familiar with this product and cannot find a retail listing in the USA. There are many references on the Internet, but they seem to indicate that this product is distributed mainly in Australia and New Zealand. Fosters (fostersgroup.com) has a product listing page for Chatelle, but very little information is provided. From other comments, I would surmise that this is a basic French brandy and as such should not be worth the price of a fine Cognac, for example, despite the "Napoleon" reference on the label. It has apparently been aged in barrel for several years, but was first distilled from grape wine at some undetermined point. Hence there really is no "year of manufacture."
