I received a gift box of Geikkeikan Sake "Samurai Tokkuri" & cups from a Japenese visitor several years ago. It's never been opened & appeasrs to be sealed quite well. Am wondering what the shelf life is. Has been stored in various locations, from a cellar to dining room. Any serving suggestions?

The basic answer I would give you is that Sake as a rule is not intended for keeping and tends to deteriorate faster it it is not stored at a cool temperature. This is particularly true of the delicate and complex higher grades of junmai ginjo and daiginjo which are customarily drunk chilled or at room temperature. With regard to the bottle you have, tokkuri refers to the small carafe from which Sake is served. It would be best to drink the Sake soon.
