I found a 1985 Meursault Goutte d'Or white still wine? Bottle also says Pierre Bouzereau-Emonin. Second bottle is 1985 Hermitage red, H. Sorrel Tain l'Hermitage. Any of these worth keeping? They have been stored standing up.

The Meursault, a Burgundy from a well-known vineyard, is the type of dry white wine which, at least in the past, could be cellared for a decade or two. The red Hermitage from a respected grower is a very long-lived wine with the potential to develop in bottle over 20 to 30 years. 1985 was a very good vintage in both regions, with many excellent, full and fleshy wines. Most of the 1985 white Burgundies of this level are past their prime, but the Hermitage should be at its peak. However, if the bottles have been stored upright for a long time, the corks will have dried out, leading to oxidation of the wine. So cut the capsules, pull the corks (which will probably disintegrate or come out very easily) and see what you find. If you're lucky, you might have one decent wine out of two.
