What is a good greek themed wine?
Answer From Expert Roger Bohmrich MW
Is a "greek themed" wine the same as a Greek wine? If so, with a little searching you can find a variety of wonderful Greek wines in many styles. Except for the popular international varieties that are also grown in some Greek vineyards, most Greek wines are produced from and labeled with an indigenous grape variety. Some examples you should definitely try include Moschofilero, most commonly seen as a fragrant, light white with crisp acidity; Assyrtico, particularly from Santorini, a white with at best real concentration and backbone; and Agiorgitiko, producing a wide range of red wines (Nemea is the best known) and some terrific dry roses. There are many others, so by all means experiment!
