Dows 2000 Vintage Port

When should I drink this?
Answer From Expert Roger Bohmrich MW

This is an excellent, highly rated Port from a great shipper. Using the rule of thumb for Vintage Port in a good year - namely, that you can start drinking in twenty years from vintage - this 2000 is just entering its best period. While there are generous fruit qualities, the wine has the firm, dry structure characteristic of Dow's. There is every reason to believe the 2000 will improve further until 2030, and likely longer, if it has been stored in the right conditions since release to market. Much depends on how you like your Port: still offering robust, overt fruit flavors or showing more bottle development and subtlety. Either way, you will have a thoroughly delicious tasting experience!
