Dinner In A Fine Dining Restuarant

Do you serve on the right or the left when serving salad, soup and dinner
Answer From Expert Roger Bohmrich MW

This isn't really my area of expertise, but I gather from friends with formal culinary and service training that food is usually served from the left and removed from the right. I suppose the answer also depends on whether the meal is "fancy" or casual - and whether you feel it necessary to follow the rules! Some table configurations and seating arrangements simply call for a common sense, improvised approach.
