Chille White Wine

can you return a cold bottle of white wine or proseco to a wine cabinet?
Answer From Expert Roger Bohmrich MW

Many people have expressed concern about moving a bottle of wine back to a cabinet or cellar after having kept it in the refrigerator; in other words, does this temperature difference harm the wine in any way? With the vast majority of white and sparkling wines, you really shouldn't worry about doing so. In fact, the temperature of a wine cabinet is likely to be far closer to that of a refrigerator as compared to a wine rack in the kitchen. Refrigerators are, by the way, a poor option for longer term storage due to wide variations in temperature, humidity and light. Greater care in all respects is advisable with aged white wines, very delicate aromatic whites, and the finest vintage Champagnes, as these are the most demanding in terms of handling and storage.
