Champagne Storeage, I Have Some Champagne

I have some champagne that got warm by accident do to my refrigerator failure can I put back in refrigerator cool and will it be ok ??
Answer From Expert Roger Bohmrich MW

Let me try to address your question from several viewpoints. A refrigerator is not a good place to keep wines for longer than a very short period because of the widely varying temperature, humidity and light. As a general rule, there isn't any reason to be concerned about putting a bottle back in a refrigerator to chill it for a second time. It is highly unlikely that this will in any way damage the wine in a perceptible way. The greater threat to a wine's soundness is heat, so the quesion is how hot your home was when the refrigerator failed. This is more relevant if you live in a hot climate and your air conditioning also failed. In any case, your best option is to chill the bottle, drink it within a few days, and hope for the best. By the way, what type of "champagne" is it?
