Can Chilled Unopened Champagne

Not used so can it be stored at room temperature?
Answer From Expert Roger Bohmrich MW

There seems to be a great deal of concern about the threat of returning a chilled bottle of wine to room temperature for later consumption. You will find quite a few questions on this subject on the LWE forum if you scroll through the pages, and you might find it helpful to consider the issue from several angles. It is true that if you intend to cellar a wine for many years, it is best to keep the bottle in cool, dark conditions and at a stable temperature. Further, if the wine - presumably a white or sparkling example - is a very old, fragile vintage, radical temperature changes might trigger some sort of sudden decline - but there is little scientific research to tell us exactly what to expect with a specific wine. In any case, for anything other than a very old wine, there is no cause for concern. Moving the bottle from the refrigerator to room temperature, and then back again prior to opening, will have no discernible effect on its taste or quality. In the meantime, if you don't have a cellar or wine refrigerator, keep the bottle on its side in an unlighted location such as the floor of your coolest closet.
