Bottle Opener/corkscrew Pagliarese

Last summer I bought a corkscrew/bottle opener (multi function tool) at a garage sale in Detroit,MI. It's maroon, on one side it says Pagliarese Chianti Classico, the other it says Castelnuovo B.GA and a phone number. I was wondering if you knew anything about where this came from. I can't find any images of it from google searches. It's not a big deal, just curious. Thank you in advance!
Answer From Expert Roger Bohmrich MW

I can't comment on the specific corkscrew you have, but I can tell you that, over my years in the wine trade, I have seen countless variations, perhaps even hundreds. Often, a particular winery or importer buys corkscrews in volume to hand out to clients as gifts, and they are typically screened with the brand or company name. As a marketer, I purchased numerous models myself or received allocations from wineries around the world. For years, these promotional corkscrews were manufactured principally in Italy. Now, many are made in China as with so many other products.
