1983 Rheinpfalz Durkheimer Feuerberg Auslese

I have a 1983er 750 ml bottle of Rheinpfalz Durkheimer Feuerberg Auslese German wine. It was bottled by Hahnhof Weinkellerei, Deidesheim, West Germany. Can you tell me if it is of any value and whether it is still drinkable?

You may want to look over answers to similar queries regarding the value of a single bottle of wine. First, unless the wine is rare and comes from one of a handful of estates which attract collectors, there really is only a theoretical monetary value for one bottle. Second, with a wine which is more than 25 years old, the major issue is how it has been stored. The odds are in your favor since German Auslesen tend to have a long life - provided that storage conditions have been good (stable, cool, dark). In any case, pick a good occasion and open the wine in the near future.
