I'm an educator with a WSET Diploma in Wine & Spirits; my approach tends to the academic, with a focus on viticulture and vinification; it is not about social events built around wine--a stance not widely available on the wine blognet. A main focus of my blog is the wines of New York State, of which there are many really good ones, and of Ontario, which itself produces world-class ice wine. I'll also explore other East Coast vineyards and wineries from Connecticut to Virginia in the same way.

"Welcome to the wine world according to RMJ. The idea is to keep dreaming up succulent wine tasting & travel features alongside spirited winery reviews & profiles, stamped by my take on planet vino and some of the people who populate it. There's a loose spotlight on 'Mediterranean' wines, landscapes and winemakers, sometimes in a lateral sense (think Spain, Sicily or Lebanon but also Australian Grenache, Syrah/Shiraz from Chile...), but not excluding other countries or varieties. My 'wine words' pages reveal even more articles/columns, recent and past, published in/on various magazines and websites: many of them can only be read here... Except for 'French Med/South of France' themed words and wines (Roussillon, Languedoc, Southwest, Rhone, Provence, Corsica) now being published on my other blog: FrenchMediterraneanWine.com. All virtually guaranteed not to mention the Romans as... "What did they ever do for us?!"
