Local Event
Winemaking doesn't have to be an intimidating process or an expensive hobby. And you definitely don't need grapes to make wine! Join local winemaker Sarah Berman at the INNER LOVE kitchen for an educational afternoon on the fundamentals of winemaking so you can go home feeling confident in the craft!
Location: INNER LOVE market lounge, 12 Church Street, Vernon Township, NJ, USA
In this class Sarah will review all the supplies + equipment needed, conventional vs. wild yeast fermentation, seasonal ingredients and sourcing, and the winemaking process from start to finish! Each participant will be making their own honeyberry honeywine (commonly referred to as mead.) What is a honeyberry you might ask? You can read more about them from our supplier Here! We will also get to taste some of Sarah's unique homemade wines and observe a demonstration on bottling up one of her finshed meads.
About Sarah Berman:
Sarah has 10 years experience in regenerative organic farming, wild plant foraging, fermentation and winemaking. The first wine she ever attempted was a wine crafted with an abundance of Nasturtium flowers grown on her farm back in 2013. She then expanded into fermenting hard apple cider and other unique wines utilizing the abundance of wild and cultivated crops that each new season would bring. Over the years she has built her observations in winemaking into a set of skills that she deems as "Intuitive Winemaking," giving reverence to local + wild yeasts and some of the most unconventional ingredients.
