Wine Vault & Bistro is honored to announce a special 5-course winemaker dinner featuring the wines of Russian River’s iconic Dutton Estate. In addition to producing some of the best (yet affordable) wines from that region that you’ll ever taste, they also grow grapes for twenty-five other high-end wineries like Kistler, Journeyman and Croix. Winemaker Kylie Dutton, the middle daughter of fifth generation owners Joe and Tracy Dutton, will be here in person to host this event.

We hope you’ll be able to join us for this wonderful dinner paired with these wonderful wines. Wine notes and bottle prices are at the end of this announcement if you're interested.

PARKING

On-street parking is usually available within a 3-block radius and meters are also free on Sunday. You can also park in the lot behind Shakespeare Pub two doors down, but do not park in El Indio's lot unless you want your car towed! If you can’t find parking next to the restaurant, there’s always LOTS OF PARKING on San Diego Avenue and the adjacent side streets just past the Chevron station across Washington Street. So please don't drive yourself crazy endlessly going around in circles waiting to pounce on that perfect spot when there's TONS OF PARKING less than three blocks away!

WINE NOTES & BOTTLE PRICES

2023 Dutton Estate “Kylie’s Cuvée” Sauvignon Blanc ~ $21

(Russian River Valley) Winemaker’s Notes: Captivating aromas of Mandarin orange, white peach and citrus blossom intertwine creating an enchanting bouquet. Delightful hints of honeydew melon, tangerine and key lime add layers of complexity, complemented by subtle notes of sweet oak. Crisp and focused attack, with a mouthfeel that is both refreshing and enduring. The vibrant acidity harmonizes seamlessly with a luxurious, creamy texture, offering a delightful balance on the palate. The finish is expansive, leaving a lingering sensation of sweet Texas Ruby Red grapefruit and Meyer lemon zest.

2022 Dutton Estate “Kyndall’s Reserve” Chardonnay ~ $24

(Russian River Valley) Winemaker’s Notes: Nose of apricot, vanilla and caramel followed by a burst of vibrant apple and pear flavors on the palate complemented by the oak-infused hints of toast and baking spices. This wine elegantly balances its rich flavors and aromas while preserving a refreshing acidity, resulting in a medium-bodied and versatile Chardonnay that pairs beautifully with a wide range of dishes. ~~~ Review by Wine Enthusiast ~ 94 points: The nose of this oak- and concrete-aged wine dances with the aromas of Vadouvan curry and lemon curd. Although the palate is broad and textural, vibrant acidity brings citric juiciness and depth to the generous finish. Drink now through 2030.

2022 Dutton Estate “Karmen Isabella” Pinot Noir ~ $32

(Russian River Valley) Winemaker’s Notes: Nose of vibrant red fruit and graceful floral aromas. Velvety smooth palate with a lingering finish that harmonizes delicate tannins and refreshing acidity, reminiscent of Burgundian Pinot Noir. As the flavors evolve, deeper, juicy fruits like raspberry and cherry reveal themselves. This lighter bodied Pinot Noir lends itself to countless pairings. ~~~ Review by Wine Enthusiast ~ 90 points: Displays aromatics of cedar, sage and grilled shiitake mushrooms in its complex and evolving nose. On the palate, there’s a mix of berries and spice with a juicy, savory finish. Try with roasted duck or barbecue pork.

2021 Dutton Estate “My Father’s Vineyard” Syrah ~ $42

(Russian River Valley) Winemaker’s Notes: A symphony of sweet tobacco, luscious blackberry, succulent cherry and delicate hints of violet. It has a velvety tannic structure that is both smooth and full-bodied. Opulent flavors of black fruit with nuances of cocoa and smoke deliver a captivating complexity.

Diplomatico "Reserva Exclusiva" Venezuelan Rum ~ $37

(Venezuela) An elegant and complex sipping rum carefully crafted from the purest of sugar cane honeys. It is delicately distilled in ancient copper pot stills and aged in small oak casks for up to twelve years. Marrying a unique body with excellent balance has made it a reference for rum lovers and connoisseurs throughout the world. Amber in color, with a complex nose and flavors of maple syrup, orange peel, brown sugar, licorice and sweet toffee fudge. Seductive and elegant finish.
