Well, Cinco de Mayo isn't exactly known as a wine drinkers’ holiday so we thought we'd stray from our usual wine pairing dinners and do an over-the-top gourmet Mexican fiesta with specialty tequilas, cervezas, margaritas and cocktails instead.
Please join us (21 and up only, please) to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. We're serving our twist on an authentic Mexican style fiesta paired with five different drinks. We'll start with a shot of premium 100% agave Reposado tequila from Siete Leguas followed by an individual mini (7 oz.) bottle of Mexican lager. Next we’ll serve back-to-back specialty margaritas: a Yucatan tropical fruit one plus our legendary ultra-premium Lambo (we call it a “Lambo” because it’s waaaay better than any “Cadillac” margarita out there IMHO!) made with four different liquors and fresh juices. We’ll finish with a mug of our equally legendary Mexican coffee that I learned how to make from a bartender in Estero Beach over forty years ago!
We hope you'll be able to join us for what will surely be a fun evening! Here's the line-up:
NOTE: Due to the complexity of this menu we regret that we will be unable to accommodate vegetarian requests or extensive menu aberrations.

HEAD’S UP
Seating is EXTREMELY limited. We have a limited number of tables for couples who want to sit by themselves so please let us know if you’re willing to sit at communal tables as that will GREATLY increase your chances of getting in. We also have the two firepit tables on the patio for two (https://www.winevaultbistro.com/fire-pit) available if you don’t mind sitting at a lower, coffee table height table. Also, please consider inviting another couple or two to join you as if you’re a party of four or six there won’t be a problem getting your own table. We are currently limiting party sizes to a maximum of six.
LOCATION & PHONE
Wine Vault & Bistro is located in the heart of San Diego between Little Italy and Old Town at 3731-A India Street on the upstairs terrace. Follow the black handrail up the stairs from the sidewalk to our front door. Our phone number is (619) 295-3939.
PARKING
On-street parking is usually available within a 3-block radius. Meters are free on Sunday. You can also park in the lot behind Shakespeare Pub two doors down, but do not park in El Indio's lot unless you want your car towed! If you can’t find parking next to the restaurant, there’s always LOTS OF PARKING on San Diego Avenue and the adjacent side streets just past the Chevron station across Washington Street. So please don't drive yourself crazy endlessly going around in circles waiting to pounce on that perfect spot when there's TONS OF PARKING less than three blocks away!
BEVERAGE NOTES
Siete Leguas Reposado Tequila
Nose of cooked and raw agave accompanied by light herbal and citrus notes followed by gentle vanilla, very light touches of nuts, dried fruit, raisins and sweet flowery and woody fragerances from the barrel aging. The flavor of cooked agave is in harmony with the fresh, herbal flavors of mint, chamomile and citrus notes blends nicely with the sweet, light flavors of caramel, vanilla and dried fruits coming from the barrel aging. (1 oz. shot)
Modelo Especial Mexican Lager
Aromas of orange blossom honey with a hint of herbs. Well-balanced taste with light hop characteristics and a crisp, clean finish. (7 oz. bottle)
Yucatan Tropical Fruit Margarita
A delicious, complex, tropical fruit margarita made with Reposado Tequila, mango and guava nectars, coconut cream and sweet 'n' sour in perfect proportions so that it's not too sweet and not too tart. Also wonderful served over vanilla ice cream for dessert. Highly addictive! (3 oz. pour)
Lambo Margarita on the Rocks
Most places have what they call a “Cadillac” Margarita, their version of a premium take on this classic drink. We took that several steps further with our Lamborghini Margarita ... our uber-premium interpretation using only the best of the best. We combine 100% agave Reposado and Blanco Tequilas from Arette with Cointreau orange liqueur from France and an orange brandy from Spain with pure organic agave nectar and fresh squeezed citrus juices. Served over lots of ice. It’s a strong drink that needs dilution so give the ice a chance to melt a bit. (3 oz. pour)
Mexican Coffee
Strong black (decaf!) coffee mixed with Kahlua and Tequila Blanco. Served piping hot with a generous dallop of freshly whipped cream. (5 oz. mug)
