Some wine grapes are household names like Merlot or Chardonnay. Others are at least well known by your average wine enthusiast like Grenache or Chenin Blanc. But in a world of around 10,000 unique wine grape varieties, most grapes languish in obscurity, whether that is justified or not. In this class, we will explore wine made with these unsung grapes.

Some will be native only to small areas that never reach the commercial importance of major regions. Others may have been used primarily as blending grapes in the past, but are able to make beautiful varietal wines when cultivated with care.
