"Omakase," Chef Todd Goodwin kindly interprets via text, "simply means 'I'll trust you, Chef."
..What a perfect opening line for a proposed Chef's Takeover, no?
As the Executive Chef of the downtown Columbus Hilton, Chef Goodwin's proposed menu, not to mention the idea as a whole, checked all the RRSC requisite boxes.
It's a 10-course, Japanese-inspired trust fall serving as homage to Omakase-style dining in Japan. On the menu stood a snout-to-tail examination of our own Anderson Farms Heritage Hogs. And the venue is that of James Anderson's very own Supper Club.
We considered it pitch-perfect in concept. He called it by another name:
Whole Hog Omakase with Chef Todd Goodwin
A 10-course compendium imported to Granville by way of Kyoto. Choice swine, fine wine, and Japanese distillates take center stage as Chef Todd Goodwin takes charge of our restaurant on May 31st.
