The heart of the Expo are the Walk-Around Grand Tastings, of which there are four entry times, where the public, media, and trade will be able to swirl, sniff, taste and discuss hundreds of bottles of wine from Virginia, our 2025 ‘Regions of Emphasis’, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia and Sonoma County, CA, and other wine regions around the world, as well as dozens of spirits, ciders and meads from Virginia. All this happens at beautiful and historic Main Street Station.

Take Home What You Taste

One of the most unique aspects of the Walk-Around Grand Tastings and SMOKED! is the opportunity to taste and in many cases purchase Virginia wine, cider, and spirits to take home. The opportunity to meet winemakers, distillers, knowledgeable volunteers, and distributor representatives, who can educate, enlighten and enrich your understanding of these quality craft products and then buy them to take home is a special opportunity you won't find elsewhere.

Five Objectives

The Virginia Wine Expo has five objectives: to present a highly curated, informative and educational international wine, spirits, and food experience for the public, media and trade; to be a national destination event, which attracts wine, spirits, and foodie enthusiasts from across the country and beyond; to offer a unique opportunity to taste - and in most cases buy - Virginia wine and spirits; to present the diverse and extraordinary cuisine of Richmond's flourishing and nationally acclaimed dining scene; and to raise money for charity (Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity).
