This unique tasting with Cheryl Riedel is crafted to let you experience wines you would try in their tasting room - and a 2018 Cabernet that is not even available in the market!"
We're excited to have Cheryl lead us through an incredible tasting of 5 wines. She has the proud distinction of having one of the longest tenures at Rombauer Vineyards, having joined the team in 1992. Through her career, she's been involved in every aspect of the winery. Few would disagree that she's one of the most beloved 'faces of Rombauer' and is trusted to host, educate and journey consumers around the country and world.
2023 Buchli Station Chardonnay ($75)
A Chardonnay for those who prefer leaner styles of Chardonnay. Aromas of lime, Meyer lemon, minerality, and white nectarine all jump out of the glass. The citrus elements continue to the palate where they meet a subtle salinity coming from the terroir of the vineyard. The most linear of our Chardonnays, the palate is lifted and bright with mouth watering acidity and a long, lingering finish.
2022 Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir ($65)
Bold and dark in color for a Pinot, this wine has bright raspberry, cranberry, and red cherry aromas which intertwine on the nose, supported by light floral notes. The intense red fruit continues on the palate where they meet subtle black tea and oak flavors. Its rich, medium body is framed by soft tannins and lively acidity with the concentrated red fruit flavors lingering on the finish.
2022 El Dorado Zinfandel ($48)
Powerful aromas of cranberry and plum intertwine with subtle pepper and chocolate notes. A full-bodied palate showcases blackberry, mocha, and spice flavors, complemented by lush tannins, that give way to a vibrant, concentrated finish.
2022 Napa Valley Merlot ($60)
Intense red plum, dried cranberry, and black cherry meet hints of mint on the nose. The palate is bursting with blackberry and warm pie crust flavors which extend through the rich mouthfeel and on to the long finish. Fine tannins are supported by a bright acidity in each beautifully balanced sip.
2018 Stic Lane Cabernet, St Helena ($ price unknown!)
Extraordinary aromas of cassis, black olive, and cedar are bold and enticing in the glass. Rich and viscous on the palate, cassis and olive flavors are framed by notes of dark chocolate and warm pie crust. The finish is long and lingering, giving the wine great depth and leaving you wanting another sip.
