After two years, the PWS is having another great Italian wine event. You are invited to join us for a wine journey across Italy. Our “Viaggio del Vino” will take us to Tuscany, Veneto, Piedmont, Lombardy and Umbria.
We will pour nine delicious wines: four white and five red. Some of the grapes for these wines are well known Italian favorites. But some will be varieties you will be tasting for the first time! They are uncommon in the USA but are native grapes in their respective regions. Each is a source of great local pride.
Two-thirds of the event wines are rated in the nineties by professional wine critics.
Of course, we are featuring an icon wine. It will be an Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG. Also, you can look forward to a Super Tuscan, as well as three other magnificent reds. But our whites are stars too. We will be pouring an ever-popular Gavi di Gavi. You will also get to enjoy a delightful, delicious Vermentino, and other white wines.
We will also be serving three savory small plates to pair with the selected wines. Please inform us of any food sensitivities early by emailing the Treasurer.
