About Steve Wells:

When I first started, it was only me so I gave myself whatever title I wanted. Hailing from the restaurant scene in New York City, I chose Walla Walla to learn how to make wine in 2011. I’ve worked for Gramercy Cellars and M&L Production and earned my degree in Enology & Viticulture from the Walla Walla Community College before starting Time & Direction in 2016. I bring my restaurant background into winemaking by focusing on food friendly wines as well as my personality to every label by making them all different based on things that have been important to me during my lifetime. Entering the Time & Direction tasting room is like stepping into my brain with 80s & 90’s pop culture references, music, video games, and of course wine, decorating all the walls. Not your average tasting room experience. It isn’t often that you’ll hear lo-fi jazz music playing one minute and then heavy metal the next. Drink wine and enjoy!

About Ryan Lowell:

Growing up the son of a restaurateur is no easy task, but it does come with its charms. Having spent his youth in the kitchen with his father, Ryan gained a hard-earned appreciation for the most exquisite of food and drink.

Ryan had his first taste of wine when he was just a boy, taking sips from his parents’ glasses at family dinners. Even then, Ryan knew he was developing a palate.

Today, under the tutelage of seasoned winemakers, Ryan aspires to one day own a estate winery and vineyard of his own.

About Chef Russell Lowell:

Master story-teller and author of In Search of Duende, Russell Lowell is the executive chef and owner of Russell Dean Lowell Premier Catering, and two distinguished venues in the greater Seattle area, One of “Russell’s” success secrets is Chef Lowell cuts all proteins in house and holds fish demos for halibut and salmon to show guests how to hone this craft at home. A true friend to up-and-coming Washington winemakers, Chef Lowell holds several winemaker dinner events each year to pair their wines with his exquisite cuisine. Russell credits his impressive culinary journey to a lifelong passion for food, spawned in the coral reefs and mangrove waterways of Cuba and nurtured by family. His passions extend far beyond the culinary walls. A true adventurer and renaissance man, Russell Lowell is a “chef of all seasons”. He can be found fly fishing all over the world with flies he ties himself, hiking and hunting in forests of the Pacific Northwest and holding Elk Camp at various locations each fall.
