Murcia is one of Spain's smaller, lesser-known regions. Tucked away in the country's far southeastern corner, it is bordered by Andalucia to the west, Castilla-La Mancha to the north, Valencia to the east and the Mediterranean Sea to the south. The most widely planted grape here is monastrell (also known as mourvèdre in France). It is a dark colored grape known for making rich, robust and hearty reds! We will visit the three Murcia sub-regions (Denominación de Origen) of Bullas, Jumilla and Yecla. These wines pair wonderfully with the braised and roasted dishes of the fall season.
