Learn the tricks to making your very own delicious pies with expert baking team of Honeypie Bakeshop.

This class is taught by Honeypie's Co-Founder and Chief Executive Pie Officer, Valeri Lucks. In this Pie Session you will learn the techniques for making an all-butter "rough puff" pastry dough - the kind of dough that bakes into tall and lovely, tender, flaky layers. This dough is an easier version of traditional puff pastry (or pastry dough that is similar to a croissant). It is perfect for making extra, flaky hand pies or a "puffed-up" top to a fruit pie or even a savory pot pie.

In class, we will make our butter dough and turn it into fruit hand pies. We will learn about the fillings that are best for these kind of tiny pies and how to assemble various shapes and sizes. We will fully bake our hand pies in class and you'll go home with 6 finished pies to share (or keep for yourself)!

Our classes are held inside the Honeypie Bakeshop kitchen inside our sister cafe Palomino, this hands-on class will guide you through a variety of different aspects of baking and give you a peek into the life of our bakeshop. Class does have us standing most of the time and working at a table in a professional kitchen. Should you need a seated option for class, please contact us and we can make arrangements.

Tickets for class include a tap beer, well cocktail, glass of wine, or NA beverage of your choice - all of your ingredients, a printed recipe with instructions, and your finished treats!

Classes are approximately 2.5-3 hours and are limited to 12 people. The Palomino kitchen and bar is open before class and during class serving drinks and our full dinner menu.

(Please note, we often have long wait lists for our pie classes. Tickets to class are non-refundable if you cancel without more than 72 hours notice. If you need to cancel within 72 hours of class, you are welcome to email us, and we will offer your spot to a person on the waiting list. If it is taken by someone waiting, we will refund your ticket. You are also welcome to give your ticket to a friend and they can attend in your place.)
