Learn the tricks to making your very own delicious pies with expert baking team of Honeypie Cafe. This fun class is taught by Honeypie's Co-Founder and Chief Executive Pie Officer, Valeri Lucks.
Held inside our Honeypie Bakeshop Kitchen inside our cafe, Palomino, our very hands-on classes will guide you through a variety of different aspects of pie making and give you a peek into the life of a bakeshop. In each class you will make your own treats to take home. There will be lots of room for questions and answers during each class so come with all of your crust conundrums and filling inquiries . Classes are approximately 2-3 hours and are limited to 12 people. Classes are designed for ages 14+. Class requires that you stand most of the time and work at a table in a working professional kitchen. If you need an accommodation to attend please let us know, we can make adjustments to our set up.
In this Pie Session class led by Valeri, will we learn a shortening based pastry crust and blind baking for the most crisp, flakey of pie crusts to hold creamy, dreamy pie fillings. While we learn how to make our own French Silk fillings, we'll discuss the history of"French Silk" pie, it's variations and which French Silk inspired Valeri's life-long love of pie. You will go home with one completed 9" pie to share or to keep all to yourself.
Tickets for class includes all of your ingredients, a recipe with tips and tricks, you finished treats and a drink ticket for the bar good for a tap beer, well cocktail, wine or any NA beverage.
(Please note, we often have long wait lists for our pie classes. Tickets to class are non-refundable if you cancel without more than 72 hours notice. If you need to cancel within 72 hours of class, you are welcome to email us, and we will offer your spot to a person on the waiting list. If it is taken by someone waiting, we will refund your ticket. You are also welcome to give your ticket to a friend and they can attend in your place.)
