Local Event
The Healing Feast offers food and music for healing connections with self, others, the earth, and the sacred. SSinger/songwriter and sacred space facilitator Sari Brown brings this new monthly series to the heart of the state Capitol to share delicious, nurturing, globally-inspired food that is mindful of the earth, along with deep, authentic conversations and Sari’s uplifting, soulful music. This dinner concert experience is designed to include people of all ages, backgrounds, beliefs, identities, abilities, and needs. The theme for this month is Sacred Darkness and the dinner and concert will include facilitated dialogue around the following question prompt: "What if the darkness of these times is not the darkness of the womb, but the darkness of the tomb? (to paraphrase Valarie Kaur). In this dark season, what is waiting to be born in you, in our community, in our culture?"
Featured artist: Johnnie Always, a Detroit-based music-driven activist and organizer. A career educator who believes we will only reach our goals when we work together, Johnnie is passionate about pinup, punk rock, and post gender.
The Healing Feast this month is a benefit for The Revolutionary Love Project (revolutionarylove.org) to support their work of empowering people to build beloved community centered on the ethic of love in response to the crises of our times. This organzation founded by Valarie Kaur teaches core practices of Revolutionary Love backed by research and infused with ancestral wisdom.
