Local Event
The Healing Feast offers food and music for healing connections with self, others, the earth, and the sacred. Singer/songwriter and sacred space facilitator Sari Brown created this monthly series to share nurturing, globally-inspired food that is mindful of the earth, along with deep conversations, uplifting music, and embodied practices of aliveness. This month's Healing Feast in collaboration with Luna Center and Bath United Methodist Church centers on the theme of Love Arises. Riffing on the occasion of Maundy Thursday (Jesus' last dinner with his friends), we will explore the call across spiritual traditions to love and serve each other in deep, wild, and boundless ways. The dialogue prompt will be: When have you been surprised by how or where loves arises—in you, in others, in the world? In what way are you feeling called to go deeper in your capacity to give OR receive love?
Featured artists/facilitators: John Love, interfaith minister, historical fiction author, and steward of the scared space that is Luna Center, will share about the food and recipes in their historical context, and connections to spiritual themes. David LaLone, poet and pastor, will share poetry of the practice of love for Maundy Thursday. Sari Brown, hostess of the feast, will share an embodied, meditative music and movement experience on the theme of Love Arises.
Menu: A First Century Palestinian meal with recipes based on research of the food eaten in the time and context of Jesus. Featuring: Tilapia with pomegranate glaze, lentil & parsley salad, lemon & thyme asparagus, homemade flatbread, and a dessert of poached apricots and yogurt. All food is gluten free, egg free, soy free, dairy free*, tree nut/peanut free (*with dairy & vegan yogurt options)
