We love a good spritz, especially ones that go beyond the classic Aperol Spritz to incorporate the wildly complex flavors of more exotic aromatized wines and mixers like flavored tonics and even an icy Coke. Once you've tried them, we think you'll love them as well and be eager to create your own spritzy concoctions. Join us for our 3rd Annual Spritz Event on Sunday, August 4th!

We'll have three tables set up on Sunday, each showcasing a pair of mouthwatering spritz based on different mixers and aromatized wines. At each table, our good friends Kat with Capitoline Vermouth, Jake from Haus Alpenz, and Liz and Margaret from Williams Corner Wines will be sharing information on the wines' make-up and history, tips on spritz creation, and - of course - provide you with really exciting samples.

Our tasting line-up:

Table 1: Kat with Capitoline Vermouth

  • Capitoline White Vermouth NV - We will be trying this on its own and served up Spritz style. But don't let that stop you from adding in Sherry and trying it as a "Summer in Jerz."
  • Capitoline Rose Vermouth NV- Add it into your soda, scotch, or on its own. This dry style of Vermouth is fabulous.
  • Capitoline Red Vermouth NV - We'll also have this served up Spritz style. Might be your next candidate for an elevated Manhattan.

Table 2: Jake with Haus Alpenz

  • Cocchi Vermouth di Torino extra dry - Want to enjoy this in the summer? Want to enjoy this in the winter? Either way the answer is yes!
  • Cappelletti Negroni Insorti - what if you could enjoy a delicious Negroni with no mixing and at a "have another one" alcohol level? This does that!
  • Mattei Cap Corse Blanc Quinquina - We asked Jake what would be fun to pour for this years Spritz event and this is what he came up with! Drink it in a spritz or with any gin or agave based spirit.

Table 3: Liz with Williams Corner Wines

  • Mattei Cap Corse Rouge - Why only drink Spritz in the summer when this can bridge the gap into cooler months. Also great with whiskey when you'll eventually want to warm up.
  • Comoz Vermouth de Chambery Blanc NV- This was the customer favorite of last years Spritz event! So good it had to make an appearance again at this years event.
  • Nikolaihof Wachau Hollerblutensirup (Elderflower Syrup) NV- We'll enjoy this syrup alongside the Mattei and Comoz, but boy oh boy is this amazing!

There’s no charge for this walk-around spritz tasting extravaganza and no need to reserve a spot or time in advance. We’ll be starting folks off at the first of the three tables in groups of 10 and then allowing you to move from one to the next over a half-hour or so. If we get a bit of a crowd going, we hope you’ll be willing to wait a few minutes as necessary before starting your tasting adventure!

Again, there is no charge for this exciting and slightly mind-expanding tasting and no need to RSVP. Join us!
