Wines

Rapaura Springs Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2022

Score: 93 pts. WS

This luscious version offers ripe peach, ruby grapefruit and passion fruit flavors that are mouthwatering, with details of sea salt, dried herbs and fresh ginger. Gains momentum and intensity on the long, expressive finish, where lemon verbena and green tea linger.

Bodegas Raul Perez Atalier a Cruz das Animas 2020

Score: 94 pts. WA

The 2020 Atalier comes from the A Cruz das Ánimas vineyard in Dena, in the town center. It matured in 5,000-liter oak foudres, where the wine matured for seven months. It has the spark and liveliness of 2020, a transparent, pure and defined Albariño with good acidity and a salty, very tasty finish.

Cave De Tavel & Lirac 2021 Domaine Des Carteresses Rosé

Score: 92 pts. WE

Intoxicating notes of candied cherries and violets introduce this deep ruby-hued rosé. Full-bodied and packed with juicy blackberry and black cherry flavors, it's an elegant, boldly structured wine finishing on lingering streaks of charred herb and smoke. A fantastic value for a solid Tavel that should drink well year-round well through 2024.

Primitif Vin de Géorgie 2018

Score: 98 pts. WA

A radiant orange blend from Georgia based on Rkatsiteli and Mtsvane grapes that macerated in qvevri for 180 days. The orange color is legendary in its radiant brilliance, and the deep, elegant and concentrated nose displays the most beautiful (and clear) dried apricot and peach aroma imaginable and it is paired with yeasty and spicy notes such as mustard seed but also notes of dried dates and figs, a touch of caramel and porcini. The palate starts finessed and elegant and develops an intense and beautifully balanced texture with seductive fruit, and this all is structured by a complex of very fine tannins and elegant, perfectly integrated acidity. This is the most beautiful orange wine I have ever had.
