There are two kinds of people in the world. Folks who have met Stephen Hagen and are huge fans of him and his wines. And everyone else. The first group is more fun, and who doesn’t need more fun in their life these days? So join the fun kids on Friday, November 16 from 3-7pm as Stephen Hagen pours his astonishing Willamette Valley Pinots (Gris and Noir) while revealing the secrets of the most insane way to grow wine we’ve ever seen or heard of: Grazing Based Viticulture.
What happens when you abandon your attempt to become a Hollywood star, come back to the family home in Oregon, plant Pinot, and then turn lose sheep, chickens, geese, goats and – most dramatically – Kune Kune pigs on your vineyard? Turns out your Pinot goes a little bonkers and suddenly you’re making wine that doesn’t taste like anything else in the Willamette Valley. Heck, in the world.
That’s Stephen’s story and he tells it much better than we do. Come meet him, get a crick in your neck from looking up at his face (he’s really tall), and taste some killer wines. We’ll be pouring:
Antiquum Farm Pinot Gris Daisy 2023
Antiquum Farm Pinot Grist Perpetua III (very rare multi-vintage blend)
Antiquum Farm Pinot Noir Willamette Valley Juel 2023
Antiquum Farm Pinot Noir Willamette Valley Luxuria 2022
Antiquum Farm Pinot Noir Willamette Valley Passiflora 2022
You’ll love meeting Stephen (or seeing him again), adore the wines, and very much appreciate the aggressive mix/match savings. Which for this tasting, only, will extend to the VERY limited quantities of his “Perpetua” Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir. What are those? Come to the tasting and Stephen will explain the next step in the delicious nuttiness going on south of Corvalis at Antiquum Farm.
