Steelheads Alley presents The Craft Brewer's Dinner Series created in collaboration with resident brewer, Rodney Hines of Seattle's own Métier Brewing Company (MBC) and local Chef Lynn Lewis of That Brown Girl Cooks! About That Brown Girl Cooks: In 2012, Chef Kristi Brown, lovingly referred to as Chef Goddess, re-imagined her business as That Brown Girl Cooks!, a food, culture, and community organization. Simply put, she calls it a “Culinary Collective.” TBGC! explores her inspirations, melds them with her experiences, and brings them back to the communities she serves. Debuting a variety of products, events, pop-ups, classes, and media presence, she engages and inspires community while connecting people with a wholesome and nurturing lifestyle.

About De'Yanna "Chef Lynn" Lewis: De’Yanna “Chef Lynn” Lewis is a Seattle native from the Mt. Baker/Columbia City neighborhood. She graduated from Franklin High School in 2004 and started her culinary journey in Orlando, Florida, where she attended Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. During her culinary studies, Chef Lynn volunteered for Walt Disney’s EPCOT Food and Wine Festival for two years, assisting world-renowned guest chefs in making foods representing their backgrounds and cultures. After graduating, Chef Lynn jumped head first into working for Foodie Catering and later Hilton Orange County Convention Hotel.

By 2013, Chef Lynn returned to Seattle to continue her grand culinary adventure. She made her rounds at the Legendary Ivar's Restaurant on the Seattle Waterfront, the University of Washington, and Il Fornaio Restaurant. In 2016, she landed a line cook position with Heavy Restaurant Group and was a member of the Meet the Moon, Purple Cafe and Wine Bar Seattle, and Purple Cafe and Wine Bar Kirkland teams.

In 2020, Chef Lynn’s culinary adventure evolved again, and she joined the COMMUNION R&B team as a Sous Chef. She was part of a team nominated for “Best Restaurant in the World” by Condé Nast in 2020 and two James Beard Nominations in 2022 and 2024. Chef Lynn has always brought a unique blend of flavors and expertise to the table, making her an integral part of the COMMUNION R&B team. In 2023, Chef Lynn accepted the Executive Chef position at That Brown Girl Cooks!, the mother company of COMMUNION R&B, leading the best catering team in the West!
