Meet local author, Professor Brian Glyn William, who has worked for the CIA and military in Afghanistan and currently teaches at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. In his latest book, The Last Warlord: The Life and Legend of Dostum, the Afghan Warrior who Led US Special Forces to Topple the Taliban Regime Williams tells the story of Dostum, who brought special forces and Afghan warriors together after 9/11 to fight the common Talban foe on horseback.
The author's main character is featured in the epic Hollywood movie 12 Strong, The Declassified True Story of the Horse Soldiers currently playing in theatres. Dr. Williams was on set in New Mexico to advise on the authenticity of both culture and costumes. The Professor will share in his true tales of time spent in a Taliban-killing warlord’s realm, while 90+ wines pours samples of winter wines.
