Join us for a wine class where we will taste wines made from the Syrah grape called "Shiraz" either due to region, tradition, or style.

Native to the steep cool hillsides of the Northern Rhône Valley, the Syrah grape makes some of the most prestigious and elegant red wines in the world. However, as the grape spread across the New World of wine production, many regions and producers choose to call the grape and the wines made from it "Shiraz." This has caused confusion in many wine drinkers, wondering what makes a Shiraz a Shiraz and not a Syrah? Let's get into it.

Join us for a casual seated wine class where we will go over the all the reasons a winemaker may call their wine Shiraz at Planet Wine while sipping six distinctly Shiraz wines.

Included with your ticket:

  • Seated wine class with certified sommelier and Neighborhood Restaurant Group Wine Director, Erin Dudley CSW
  • Tasting of six fine wines made from Shiraz
  • Small serving of cheese to accompany your tasting
  • Discounts on all bottles tasted
