Native to the steep cool hillsides of the Northern Rhône Valley, the Syrah grape makes some of the most prestigious and elegant red wines in the world. However, as the grape spread across the New World of wine production, many regions and producers choose to call the grape and the wines made from it "Shiraz." This has caused confusion in many wine drinkers, wondering what makes a Shiraz a Shiraz and not a Syrah? Let's get into it.
Join us for a casual seated wine class where we will go over the all the reasons a winemaker may call their wine Shiraz at Planet Wine while sipping six distinctly Shiraz wines.
