Secret Sidekick Suppers Presents: Metabolic Meals with Fat Science Podcast

What if we told you that butter isn't bad, carbs are good for you, and that you SHOULD eat dessert?

Join us on September 11 as we raise funds for a hard-working Seattle non-profit (the Diabesity Institute), dispel diet myths, and learn more about the science of why we get fat with the team from the Fat Science podcast: medical expert Dr. Emily Cooper and her longtime patients, designer and creative director Andrea Taylor, and journalist Mark Wright.

Enjoy a four-course meal crafted by the renowned Matt's in the Market team inside the warm and welcoming Mutual Arts Collective in Pike Place Market, a multi-use event and gallery space highlighting community and systems-impacted artists, co-owned by Pearl Jam's lead guitarist Mike McCready. With each course, Dr. Cooper will draw on her decades of metabolic health experience to share what we should eat (hint: no restrictions!) and why.

Fat Science is a podcast on a mission to explain where our fat really comes from and why it won’t go (and stay!) away. In each episode, Dr. Emily Cooper and co-hosts Andrea Taylor and Mark Wright share little-known facts and personal experiences to dispel misconceptions, reduce stigma, and instill hope. Fat Science is committed to creating a world where people are empowered with accurate information about metabolism and recognize that fat isn’t a failure.

All net event proceeds will go to the Diabesity Institute, a Seattle-based nonprofit working to increase access to effective science-based medical care for those suffering from or at risk for diabesity.

The fourth event in the Life Topics to Chew On event series, Metabolic Meals with Fat Science Podcast is not just a dinner; it's an immersive experience of delectable cuisine and deep reflections, creating connections that linger far beyond the table.
