This will be an all-Pinot Noir event. We will be pouring NINE different pinots. Our pinots will be from the Old World, New World, Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere.
You will have a unique opportunity to compare pinots from California, Oregon, Chile, New Zealand, Germany and with our latest addition, France. They will all be different but they will all be Pinot Noir. Speaking of difference, we will pour a very unusual Pinot Noir. Something you probably have never heard of before, let alone tasted. But you will at this PWS event, if you attend.
Pinot Noir is one of the most popular and sought-after wines in the world. It’s beloved for several reasons:
· It is complex. It features red fruit notes like cherry, raspberry and strawberry along with earthy, floral and spicy aromas and flavors.
· It is versatile with food. Its balanced acidity and light to medium body makes Pinot Noir a great match for a wide range of dishes, from poultry and pork to earthy vegetables and even some seafood.
· It is elegant, having a silky texture with fine tannins. This makes it easy to drink and enjoyable by itself without food.
· It has a keen sense of place. Pinot Noir is known to be one of the most expressive wines representing the distinct characteristics of the regions where it is grown. Prime examples include: Alsace, Russian River Valley, Willamette Valley, Central Otago and Baden. Pinots will fascinate tasters with their unique differences.
Pinot Noir is one of the most challenging red grape varietals for a grower. It requires a low yield and the utmost care during vinification to produce wines of convincing quality.
Reservation deadline is October 8th! Seating is limited, and there are a lot of Pinot aficionados out there. Do not get shut out of a tasting you may never see again.
Mark your calendars for Pinot Noir Around the World at the Hilton Harrisburg, Friday, October 11th at 7 p.m.
