In the 1970s, California-based wine shop owner, Kermit Lynch, set out on a trip to France to discover humble wines made by real farmers, ultimately meeting the winemakers who would change the wine landscape in United States forever. He wrote about his travels, documenting the people and places he met along the way, in a book called Adventures on the Wine Route. For the past 50 years, Kermit Lynch has continued to transport us to the charming winescapes of France through wine. This seminar-style tasting will bring you along part of Kermit's wine route, stopping in the Loire Valley, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Beaujolais and southern France. Pulling wines and stories straight from the pages of his beloved book, we'll explore some of the unique wines and regions Kermit stills champions today. You'll learn about the people behind these delicious wines and how to best enjoy them at home.
