Celebrate the Holidays with a Taste of Laos: Cooking Class Featuring Mok Bpah
Join us for a festive culinary journey as we explore the vibrant flavors of Laos with Vekonda Luangaphay, founder of The Lao Project. In this hands-on cooking class, Vekonda will guide you through the art of preparing Mok Bpah—a traditional Lao steamed fish dish wrapped in banana leaves, bursting with herbal, aromatic goodness.
While Mok Bpah is often associated with celebratory occasions in Lao culture, such as weddings, it also embodies the warmth and togetherness that families cherish during the holiday season. This class is the perfect way to gather with loved ones or friends and discover a dish that brings light, comfort, and a new cultural twist to your holiday table.
During the class, you’ll learn techniques passed down through generations in Vekonda’s family, as well as insights into the rich culinary heritage of Laos. Perfect for those seeking to add something special and globally inspired to their Christmas, New Year’s, or winter family gatherings.
