We continue with great wines for spring and Easter plus a focus on the Meursault/Languedoc collaboration at Boyer de Bar on Saturday from noon-4pm. Before or after you nibble on some Grafton Village Cheese Truffle Cheddar you'll love tasting:

Carol Shelton Wild Thing Rose Rendezvous 2024 - From a Zinfandel master but not white Zin, this tastes like you filled up a pillow case with super-ripe strawberries and four sprigs of rosemary and then bashed it all around a bit. It has the size of a chillable red and the fresh fruit and dry finish of a classic rose.

Boyer De Bar Chardonnay Les Peyrarols 2022 - Meursault winemaker working with Languedoc fruit equals really delicious Chardonnay at much better than Bourgogne Blanc prices! The finish belongs on a much more expensive wine: long, flowing dry.

Le P'tit Paysan Albariño La Marea Monterey 2023 - When you think about it, super-cold Pacific Ocean air in California does about the same thing as the cold Atlantic winds do in Rias Baixas. This is snappy, dry, lightly salty Albarino that will make you smile.

Casa Castillo Monastrell Jumilla 2021 - The grape they call Monastrell in France is native here and gives a wine at once nicely powerful/rich and very fresh and drinkable. The fruit flows with a wild herb and earth base note that will sing with lamb.

Bedrock Wine Company The Whole Shebang California Red Wine 16th Cuvee NV - A big snoot- and mouth- full of crushed berries and cherries with some cocoa dust, a touch of acidic/tannic bite, and a “I dare you to stop drinking me” finish that keeps you coming back for more. From Bedrock's younger Zinfandel and other heritage vines, a treat.

A wild tasting of wild wines for these very wild times! Come give them a try from noon to 4pm this Saturday and stock up for Easter and spring.
