Palate Development is an essential practice for tasting and evaluating coffees. This Cupping and Palate Development Workshop introduces students to the practice of cupping: the industry standard for assessing and understanding coffee.
This workshop provides an overview of the uses and history of cupping, as well as cupping terminology and protocol guidelines. We will introduce and talk about the human ability to process complex information through sensory perception while calibrating and learning how to use common language when describing flavor, acidity, body and aftertaste .
This workshop includes two coffee cuppings as well as sensory activities; it is scheduled for four hours with a break halfway through the session.
