Meet the Winemaker!
A Journey Through History with Winedos.com & Bodegas Javier Sanz
Join us for a one-of-a-kind wine tasting experience at Vinia Wine & Kitchen, in collaboration with Winedos.com, where we will Learn the History Behind the Wine.
On this special evening, Berta Durán from Bodegas Javier Sanz will take us on a journey through four extraordinary wines that reflect the deep-rooted heritage and innovation of Javier Sanz, one of Spain’s most respected viticulturists and winemakers, and co-founder of the denomination of origin Rueda, in the north of Spain.
Javier Sanz, a pioneer in Spanish viticulture, comes from a family with over 150 years of winemaking tradition in Rueda, one of Spain’s most renowned wine regions. He has dedicated his career to preserving and reviving forgotten grape varieties, bringing back vines over 200 years old, and crafting wines with an identity deeply connected to the land.
What’s on the Tasting Menu?
Malcorta – A rare Verdejo clone that was once abandoned due to its difficult pruning but produces wines of exceptional elegance and complexity.
Colorado – A unique wine made from the rediscovered Cenicienta grape, an ancient variety with an unknown genotype, now brought back to life.
Bruñal – A bold red grape not originally found in Rueda, yet thriving under Javier’s expertise, showcasing the potential for new expressions in the region.
A Historic Sweet Wine – A luxurious blend of Verdejo and Gorda de Moldavia, inspired by the sweet wines once favored by Spanish royalty.
Indulge in a remarkable evening of wine and history, where every sip tells a story of passion, tradition, and discovery.
