Join JBF Greens for mariscos at Ensenada in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Open since 2022, Ensenada is run by executive chef/partner and James Beard Award semifinalist® Luis Herrera. Hailing from Caracas, Venezuela, Herrera ventured to New York City in the early aughts and honed his craft at the lauded Mexican restaurant Cosme, where he began as a prep cook and swiftly advanced to sous chef.
Following stints at Casa Ora, Blanca, and Outerspace, Herrera now helms two outposts of Ensenada, one in Brooklyn and the second in Miami. Named for a port city in Baja California, Mexico, Ensenada recreates traditional Mexican seafood dishes with locally sourced, sustainable seafood. For the occasion, Herrera will prepare a three-course menu that underscores his robust knowledge of—and respect for—Mexican culture and cuisine.
