During this class Maricel and you will learn and make:
- Shrimp Tempura and Vegetable Tempura
- Chicken Katsudon over rice
- Mochi - deliciously sweet Japanese rice cake.
Tempura is much more than just fried food, it is delicate and deep in layers of flavor when done correctly. Introduced to Japan in the 16th Century by the Portuguese, the Japanese have made this one of the staples of their cuisine. There are a lot of small details to getting the batter correct, the temperature of the oil, and preparation of the food. Tempura Chefs in Japan are masters at their craft and Chef Maricel will share with you what she has learned from one of these Chef.
