The Veneto and Alto-Adige regions of Italy are located in the northeastern part of the country and include some very iconic wines. The Veneto is home to the popular Soave white wine, as well as the famous red wines Valpolicella, Valpolicella Ripasso and Amarone, made from a blend of indigenous grapes and utilizing very unique winemaking techniques. The Alto-Adige, also known as Südtirol, borders Austria and Switzerland and is known for its diverse terroir and interesting grape varieties. We will learn about the history and culture of these regions, and of course, explore their delicious and distinctive wines!
