Join our Head Cheese Buyer and expert monger Marc, for a gastronomic tour through his native Cuban cuisine.

As the golden light of summer glistens earlier in the afternoon, our appetites for richer food returns and what could scratch that itch better than Cuban Cuisine.

Our head cheese buyer and expert monger, Marc, brings his knowledge of his native Cuba to Formaggio Kitchen. He'll share with you his favorite dishes beginning with tostones, crispy, savory, salty, golden coins of pure deliciousness. Popular throughout the Caribbean, twice-fried plantains are a snack that will make you feel like you're walking on sunshine.

Next, croquetas, a popular Cuban appetizer made by blending finely ground ham with bechamel sauce. The mixture is shaped into oval shapes, coated with breadcrumbs, and deep-fried until golden brown.

From there we'll move to a favorite entree: Masitas de puerco are delectable fried pork chunks, known for their irresistible juicy, tender interior. The recipe starts by marinating pieces of pork shoulder in a flavorful blend of sour orange juice, garlic, and spices. The pork chunks are then deep-fried until golden brown. The result is a mouthwatering dish that pairs beautifully with arroz con frijoles.

All of these delicacies will be artfully paired with carefully curated wines to bring the whole experience together.

And for dessert, we'll cool things down before sending you out into the evening with a Cuban batido (milkshake or smoothie)— the perfect citrusy, agrodolce culmination to your Cuban journey along with Marc's famous casquitos de guayaba.

To fully participate in the class:
1. Reserve your ticket through Eventbrite! Purchase one ticket for each member of your party. The ticket price includes admission for one as well as a cheese plate, wine, and accompaniments for one.
2. Class will begin at 7:30pm. This is a seated event in our retail learning setting. The duration of the class is about an hour and a half. After class, there will be time to tour our cheese caves as well as shop our expansive product selection (at a 10% discount!).
3. This event is for 21+. Our staff will check IDs at the door.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please reach out to classes@formaggiocambridge.com before the day of your class if you or a member of your party has any food allergies or dietary restrictions or requires seating.
CANCELLATION POLICY: If you are unable to attend a class, please let us know at least 72 hours before the class is scheduled to take place and we will give you a full refund or a credit for a future class. If you don't let us know in advance of the class, you are not entitled to any refund or credit.
